WITL™ 2020 – getting ready!
Hello Week in the Life™! I’ve decided to participate in this Ali Edwards project next week (starting on Monday)….after having taken an extended leave from it.
WITL is an intense project. It’s a week of being present, looking at your life through the lens of a camera, and telling the stories of the ordinary and the extraordinary. It’s pretty awesome.
I completed WITL in April 2010 in a 12×12 album, and August 2011 in blog form only, and September 2013 in a heavily filtered 6×6 photo book. In many years, I’ve passed on this project b/c I was already doing a weekly Project Life, and adding another project was simply too much. In some years, we were traveling. In most years, I just wasn’t feeling it.
This year is already a story like no other, isn’t it? I’m choosing to do a deep dive into my week because I love this life, and because I do believe that my story – and our story – matters.
So today, I followed along as Ali hosted a WITL Prep Party. I printed out filler cards, chose a pattern of page protectors, and (this is an important step) warned Dan & Austin that I’d like them to show up in a few photos. Fair warning is key, friends.
For those who like to know about supplies:
*I’m using Week in the Life™ Kiley in Kentucky Digital Journal Card Set. I did have to carefully resize the daily title cards to fit into this style of page protector.
*This will be a 6×8 album – I just ordered a bunch of colors of the Simple Stories SN@P! binder.
*I’m using up a variety of page protectors that I have on hand, and challenging myself to get creative with odd sizes (2×2, 4×4, 2×8), in addition to the go-to sizes (3×4, 4×6, 6×8)
*Since I will be at home for this week, I’m going to make a point to use my Canon 7D, in addition to my iPhone, for photos.
I’d love to know if you’re planning to play along!
