one little word

2021 february OLW® prompt

February’s prompt in the One Little Word® classroom is one of my favorites. I’ve been vision boarding for several years, and love the practice so very much. In the last few years (pre-Covid, obviously), I’ve even hosted a vision-boarding parties at my house – oh how I miss that energy!

My “main” vision board hangs in my yoga area, next to vision boards of years past. As you can see, I lean toward more words than pictures. As I was pulling together the words & phrases that resonated with me, it was super clear that my core desired feelings continue to show up in my life. The themes of celebration, happiness, travel (c’mon vaccines!), breath, money, and home all wind their way back to those core feelings.

I made a second, smaller (6×8) vision board to include in my One Little Word® album. This one is entirely focused on my word – heal. We’ve all experienced trauma in the past year…and while our story is similar, it is also different. I will likely include some journaling on the back of this page, telling the story of what healing looks like right now.

As much as I love the finished product of the practice of vision boarding, it’s the process that I really enjoy. Letting the words speak. Creating a mess of clippings. Filling up the space. Letting go of straight lines and evenly spaced design.
