the 100th post

I should probably write something very deep & introspective for this post. Nice milestone – 100 posts. Cool. But nothing deep nor intropsective today….

Exhaustion caught up with me last night, and I didn’t even touch my work for the show. Gina checked in last night to let me know that she picked up tablecloths for our booth, and we were comparing progress on albums. I was telling her that I had this paper that I really loved that I wanted to use for an album, but it didn’t really fit any of the "themes" that we’ve decided on. So, I just made a whatever album…if someone just wants to put random pictures in, or use it as a "brag book"…they won’t be tied to a theme. That may seem kind of obvious to the rest of you, but to me, it was a breakthrough. I’m a project manager. I make lists of things to do, timelines of tasks, and I make sure that they are done. That’s very much how I’ve approached the tasks for this show…we made the list of albums, and I’m getting them done & checking them off. As I was telling Gina this, she said "I’ve been doing the same thing! Following that list. But guess what? Corporate didn’t make the list…we did!!! Hey, we ARE corporate! We can change it!" I’m going to make a whole slew of whatever albums this weekend.

Since this is a milestone post, I’ll just be honest & say that exhaustion had a little help from a Bacardi Raz last night. That’s probably the real reason that I didn’t get anything done. I feel better getting that off my chest.

If I would have realized sooner that this was my 100th entry, I would have come up with some cool "100 list." Y’know…100 reasons why I love scrapbooking or 100 reasons why I blog or 100 reasons why Matt Bryant is my idol. (Okay, just threw that last one in to get Matt to comment, ’cause I love his comments) When Austin was in kindergarten, he had to bring in 100 of something for their 100th day of school. We made a list of 100 reasons why we love Austin. I know that this will sound awful….but it was hard. We love him to death, of course, but to come up with 100 reasons that can be put into words?? We had to get very creative. I hope I have that list somewhere…that will be an easy layout.

Well, for the 100th time….I’m going to be late for work if I don’t get off this computer. Have a great Friday!

Congratulations! 100 posts is big. I don’t know how you find the time. Forget Martha Stewart, you’re my idol!! It seems like you’ve been doing this so long that I don’t know what I’d do if your blog wasn’t here to read every day. I’m addicted (in the same frightening way I can’t pass a bookstore without going in). It’s like my zen moment in a very hectic day. By the way, Patrick says “Hi.”

Congrats on your 100th post. I’ve never paid attention to my post count, maybe I should start? 😉

100 times: I love your blog. Cracking up over the Bacardi confession. Good one! And about that Whatever Album… great idea. People will eat that up because it will allow them freedom and they won’t feel like they have to follow rules or do it right. I think that you, as corporate, are making some very sound business decisions. Carry on… can’t wait to read the next 100 posts.
