TGIF

Some weeks just feel longer than others. This was one of those weeks. It doesn’t help that I’ve been up until at least midnight every night this week, getting ready for the craft show.

Hope went to the H.S. Football game tonight. She called a few minutes ago to ask if she could "hang out at Bri’s house for a little while." I think we’ll be spending many a Friday night without Hope. I know she’s a teenager. But does she have to be a teenager on Friday nights?

The strike goes on. We’re tired. Yesterday & today were already scheduled teacher inservice days, so the kids have missed 8 days of scheduled classes. Some of our friends are considering moving their kids to private schools. The State is considering legal action. It’s a mess.

In better news, my back is feeling so much better. The MRI showed early signs of turning-into-your-mother disease in my spine. At least I *think* that was the medical term. I am pledging to start pilates after the craft show. After cracking up over a comment on Carrie’s blog (Eat Your Crayons on the list to your left)…"the tragedy that is my ass"…I am motivated to once again make up with my treadmill. My Mom advises that the treatment for my back is "don’t get fat"…which I think also means "step away from the M&Ms." That’s just no fun.

It’s "Dinner with the Cousins" weekend. {Karen, don’t read this part}I have no idea what I’m going to feed these people. Really need to get that figured out.

Well, my daughter does pilates and yoga, and she lost 5 lbs in a month. not kidding. IT’s really great, and pretty easy. Lots of stretching and weird poses! She wants me to do it too…so I’m going to…as soon as I get up off my lazy heiney! I feel badly about your teacher situation. Terrible for the kids…they’re the ones getting hurt! Too bad the adults are not thinking of that.
