random, jumbled thoughts

  • I was in a grumpy mood yesterday. By the afternoon, I finally realized WHY. I miss my CA friends. I had such a good time with everyone…and it was the first time in awhile that I didn’t stretch myself too thin by seeing EVERYONE. I got to see the folks at the top of the list….in Fresno, at least. Renee, Tracy, & Matt…I miss you, too…you’re still my CA/Fresno friends even though you live in different places
  • Fall TV rocks (absolutely NO segue between those two topics…how’d ya like that?). Watched the season premiere of House last night. I totally love that show. Did you know that the lead guy…Dr. House…is actually british? He has british accent IRL, and is only "playing" American. How cool is that? Anyway, this guy is who I’d be, if only I were a genius-male-doctor-addicted-to-painkillers…or playing one on TV.
  • Playing off of the British thing – the woman that I sometimes travel with ended up in the hospital in London this weekend. We were in SF on Thursday, and she flew to London on Sunday. She’s okay now, released yesterday. I have been SO worried for her. I just can’t imagine being in a foreign country, all alone, in such pain.
  • Another soccer game today (no segue again) – they tied yesterday. Hope played for most of the game, which she’s VERY proud of. It’s a competitive league…you don’t get play time unless you earn it. Another game today – I’ll leave early to see this one (camera in hand, don’t you worry).
  • WHY do girls roll up the waistbands of their shorts to make them shorter?? ARRGGHHH!!! Drives me CRAZY!! "Hope Elizabeth, unroll that waistband. And you’d better not roll it again when you leave this house." Totally a pet peeve.
  • I need new clothes. We exhibit at a trade show in NYC every year…and it’s coming up. June & I stress about our "HBA wardrobe" every year. We’re stressing now. Any suggestions? Where do you shop?
  • I should give credit where credit is due – Austin took that new profile pic of me. I was tired of the old one.

Hey… maybe we should take a little trip to Albany before you go… a great store (H&M)… inexpensive but very trendy. Plus there is actually a mall there to shop in! 🙂 Target too!

I watched the last 15 minutes of House last night, first time watching the show and I found it amusing, if I dind’t have school I might even watch it.
About the waistbands, I do it with sweatpants just to make them lower rise. I hate pants above my belly button so for me it’s a comfort issue, plus most of hte time the bottom of the pants drag on the floor so it helps preserve them longer. yup, yup. 🙂

Sorry to hear your missing your CA friends, it’s so hard to move away from friends. Since moving back to CA I dearly miss my gal pals in UT. *sigh*
Watched House last night. I had no idea he was actually British, ya learn something new every day! Now I’m curious to hear him speak w/ his British accent.
Girls were rolling the waist band of their shorts when I was in H.S. I remember thinking it didn’t look very comfortable, especially when they were uhhhh…creeping you know where. LOL! 🙂

Back ‘atcha, kid. We never see anyone anymore. Such are the rigors of we who occupy the outpost. The mountain biking is better here, though.
And though it’s not really Fall TV per-se (it’s been on most of the summer) SciFi Channel’s Battlestar Galactica has to be the best free cable drama out there. Taking the Cylons from chrome toasters to cloned leggy blondes took a lot of guts. And as an aside, Edward James Olmos, who plays the new Adama in the series, is not really from the planet Caprica, but from right here on Earth (East LA, to be exact). He’s only playing a Caprican.

Had a blast with you this last weekend..dang why does Vermont have to be so far! Really Katrina you need to do something about that!LOL Why do girls roll up their waistbands???.. because well, it annoys the cr*p out of their mothers and makes us adults shake our heads and say things like our parents ( jeez, kids now days..what is the world coming to..etc )Tell Austin he is an awesome photographer! Tell Hope they’ll win next time and keep up the hard work? BTW how was THE party of Hopes?

  • renee

Well, let’s hope that Hope doesn’t roll the waistband of that jean skirt she’s wearing down below…that thing couldn’t get any shorter!!! Let’s see, where do I shop??? Where DON’T I shop!!! I LOVE New York & Company (not Lerner’s anymore!!!) …oh, and ANY stores in the Gilroy Outlets- guess you won’t be making a trip there anytime soon.
