let's read

#katrinareads – april

It seems that 2 books a month is my cadence right now. I’m okay with that. We’ve got a lot going on, and sometimes reading just isn’t at the top of my list.

Daring Greatly – I am a huge fan of Brene Brown, so I wasn’t the least bit sad when my work book club chose Daring Greatly as this month’s read. I’d read it several years ago, so I chose to listen to the audio this time. So, so good. I remember feeling like the parenting sections didn’t resonate with me the first go ’round (likely b/c the Bigs were already big). This time, I took a lot of insights away.

Hillbilly Elegy – I bought a used copy of this after I read (and enjoyed) Educated. I enjoyed both, but I could relate to Hillbilly Elegy so much more. Let’s just say that a lot of this book was not unfamiliar to me. The culture described is so real, right now, and it’s shocking if you haven’t lived either inside of, or adjacent to, it.

I’m well into May Reads as I write this…so stay tuned!
