home today, gone tomorrow
Rob got home last night. We have one day of normal, then I head out tomorrow am. All this coming & going is normal for us…but still chaotic. There’s so much that’s NOT getting done. The living room couch has become a staging area for clean laundry. The new bookshelves for Hope’s room are still in the mudroom. We moved the date for Austin’s party b/c we didn’t get invitations out in time. The meals calendar on my fridge still says August – a sure sign that things are not as organized as they usually are. I chalk it up to a month of adjusting to back-to-school & sports schedules.
So, our welcome home plans were upset by the fact that Rob took the 8 o’clock ferry. Too late for us to have the stuffed shells, steamed broccoli, & Maza’s cheddar bread that we had planned. I guess we’ll do that tonight. We did, however, have this yummy concoction:
Brownie & cherries trifle. We are suckers for sweets in this house.
