having ourselves a heat wave…

The high temp was 68 degrees yesterday. That’s scorching for this time of year in Vermont. I’ll be kicking myself for saying this, but I need the snow back. Gets me in the holiday frame of mind. I don’t need a blizzard, just a few flakes. We are supposed to get some snow on Friday & Saturday, which will come in handy for good cutting-down-a-christmas-tree photo ops.

Note to fellow bloggers – when it’s early & you really don’t have anything to say, just start out with a snazzy weather report. Great hook. LOL.

One out of three meetings are done for the week. We had a mandatory winter sports meeting at the middle school. We were joking on the way there that we could predict which parents would be there. We weren’t far off. I fail to understand why people don’t participate in their kids activities/school/life. Don’t they want to know what’s going on? Don’t they want to know other parents?

One of the big topics in last night’s meeting was the desperate need for coaches. Our boy’s & girl’s B teams need coaches. Both of the A team coaches will try to cover both teams, but that’s really not fair to the coaches OR the kids. So, after several impassioned pleas, Rob is feeling his arm being twisted. He’s already assistant coaching Hope’s mini-metro basketball team, and Austin’s rec basketball team…what’s one more? So what that it’s not even the team that OUR kid is on. So what that most of the girls will be taller than him? (sorry honey, hee hee) Anyway, he’s promised them a decision today.

So, I’m off to pick up a co-worker on my way to work today. I’m always a little stressed when this co-worker asks for a ride because on ONE day, YEARS ago….I forgot to pick him up. Yep, just went driving on by. When he finally got to work, he came over to my desk and just said "hi, how are you today?" It took me about 10 minutes to even realize what I’d done (or NOT done, which was more the point). I have post it notes all over the place, reminding myself to pick him up.

Have a happy Wednesday – sorry for the uninspired post – maybe I need some snow to get my brain moving (like how I ended with the weather, too?).

Oh my gosh! You forgot to pick him up? That is so funny. I’m laughing out loud over that confession.
It was warm in Virginia yesterday too. Humid,in fact. I was sweating my brains out at the mall, which ticked me off since I wanted to rush around, but that was overheating me.
Good for your husband (who I am secretly in love with) for considering taking on another team. He is a good guy!

Snow? Isn’t that the little white stuff that falls from the sky? I think we actually have the same high temp today as you do. Ha. Who would have thought that Fresno CA and Colchester VT would have the same high on November 30th? You know what this means…global warming!!
I actually laughed out loud at my desk when reading your tale of forgetting a coworker. Beautiful. Have you every forgotten to buckle you kids into the car seat (when they were in them)? Done that. Patrick never lets me forget.
Even your “boring” posts are fun for me.

I can’t believe you forgot your co-worker. How did he finally get to work??? You must have felt bad all day. Probably about once a month I forget to pick Bryce up from daycare…just in heavy thought…I ALWAYS remember once I pull into the driveway. I feel like a bad mommy when I do that. We have forgotten once or twice (or more) to buckle our kids in. Now Brandon is old enough to say, “HEY!!! You didn’t seatbelt me in!!! Silly mommy.” Yeah, silly mommy.
