Have a wonderful day, Rose

This morning, I had the pleasure of speaking with Rose at my cable company. Rose, like me, is not a morning person. Which makes me wonder why Rose, unlike me, chose an early morning shift. I called Rose this morning because I rec’d a disconnection notice on my fully paid cable account. I called in the wee hours of the morning to avoid having to shout from my cubicle at work "Please don’t shut off my cable!". Prior to calling, I logged onto to my account’s site, and double checked that everything was up-to-date and my automated payments were still scheduled. Everything was in order. Enter Rose. With very little emotion, Rose informed me that my account was up-to-date. I asked why I had received a disconnection notice. She informed me that my account was up-to-date. THEN WHY DID I RECEIVE THE NOTICE??? Rose was apparently referring to the section of her customer service manual entitled "what to say when the cable company has clearly screwed up." That section apparently directed her to keep repeating the words "your account is up-to-date." After no less than 4 attempts to get a logical explanation of why I rec’d a disconnection notice, I finally just told Rose to have a wonderful day. (And if you shut off my cable, and that causes me to miss Oprah, we’ll have words Rose.)

This does not bode well for a good day. I did get up & work out again this morning. And I found out yesterday that my wellness reimbursement will cover workout videos (leg warmers optional), so I’m going to pick up a Pilates DVD on the way home today. Any recommendations?

Oh – rest assured everyone, I am not interested in maintaining straight hair. In fact, I’m the only one in my family that has come to terms with curly hair! I like it. Glad that you do, too. 🙂

Added a few new pics. Enjoy…pumpkin picking.

Curse Rose. You are kidding me, she couldn’t guarantee that the cable would not be shut off, and she had no explanation as to why you received the notice? That is just wrong. I’d be ticked off.
Now, about those photos. Miss Oliva is beautiful. The picture of her in the tunnel is one of the best pictures I’ve seen in a long time. Great depth. And that one of her leaning on Austin – that melts my heart. Loved, loved, loved this pictures. All the kids look so happy!

Yay for you keeping your curls!
My daughter does pilates, and she really likes the Denise Austin dvd’s. She also does Yoga…I’m going to start yoga/pilates soon myself. God help me.

My theory is that all public utilities conspire to make our lives miserable and one way to do that is to be unable to explain why you get a disconnect notice when you’re paid up. PG&E (or The Evil Empire as I prefer) did the same thing to me. They told me that could not guarantee my power would not be shut off after I paid in full. Try asking for a supervisor if you think Rose was frustrating :).
