florida : may 2018

Dan & I kicked off summer (or at least Memorial Day weekend) in Florida…

Our trip started off with a fun upgrade! We have a bit of a joke about our rental car experience in Chicago last month – a joke that ends with the punch-line of “NEVER AGAIN” in my stern voice. So, he made it up to me on this trip with an upgrade to a Jag. SO fun to drive!

The weather wasn’t spectacular…but it was still warm enough for an afternoon at the pool, and bare feet in the morning.

Unfortunately, Iris & Don were both feeling ill on Saturday night (perhaps the result of some sketchy food the night before), so Dan & I headed out for a date night.

This is what happens after 2-for-1 drink specials at happy hour in the square.

Even in rainy weather, blooms are my favorite.

On Sunday, we drove out to the new (still being built) Village, and did a few rounds of beginner golf. I actually did pretty well!! 

It was a short & sweet visit, punctuated with so much gratitude for Iris & Don. They’re my favorite.
