fab finds : uncommon goods buddha cups

The weather shifted this week. The crisp, bright falls days turned moody. I've lived in the northeast for the better part of 20 years now (whatttt??), and I feel like I am just now tuning in to the subtle cues. Beyond the flashy leaves, and the Christmas decorations that show up in retail aisles…I mean the way that the air smells like cold, the orange & grey sunrises (that don't need to be photoshopped. ahem.), and the darker colors in my closet as I put away my summer wardrobe. The other, not-so-subtle cue is my propensity to reach for warm beverages. I'm addicted year-round, but in the winter I reach for tea & coffee as if my life depended on it…b/c it kind of does. Which brings me to these cups…

Are they not PERFECT for me?? Uncommon Goods so generously sent these over for Austin & I to use. The day that they arrived, Austin put on a pot of tea (b/c he's the coolest 17 year old EVER), and stood by the stove with his hands wrapped around these brilliant cups (click here to see additional colors). We're totally fans.

In case you aren't familiar with the awesome-ness that is Uncommon Goods : Founded in 1999 and headquartered in Brooklynn, NY, Uncommon Goods is a privately-owned retailer that endeavors to feature unique designs and handcrafted gifts created in harmony with the environment and without harm to animals or people. I love that Uncommon goods supports crafty, artsy folks and is mindful of the environment, too. About 1/3 of their entire collection incorporates recycled and/or upcycled materials. I've already found at least 1/2 dozen items to add to my wishlist. I'd recommend starting here, wishlist in hand. Oh, and check out their stocking stuffer suggestions here if you're already embracing the holiday-ness of it all. I'll take the Story of the Earth bracelets, pretty please.

I have this vision of spending many of my winter weekends in front of the fire with a good book and a cup of tea. Likely in my pjs (I may or may not be writing this blog post in my pjs, with a fire in the fireplace). These Buddha cups will be well-used, that's for sure. For the record, I'm also stashing away the boxes…

**I received these products free of charge from Uncommon Goods. Opinions, and adoration, are my own. I was not compensated for this post.
