memory keeping

creative projects in 2021

As with most years, I have spent the last few weeks pondering how I want to approach memory keeping for 2021. I’m feeling good about my plan, and looking forward to sharing along the way. I’ll be sharing here, on Instagram, and on Facebook.

Project Life®

I am waiting for an order from Persnickety Prints to deliver so that I can finish up my Project Life® 2020. I’ll share a full video when I complete it, for sure. At the beginning of 2020, I anticipated that I’d focus more on stories, and less on “traditional” Project Life…and then 2020 went sideways. I am pretty much thrilled that I kept up with memory keeping last year.

For 2021, I decided to subscribe to Ali Edward’s Story Kit. I’m planning on using a 9×12 format, and letting Ali’s prompts dictate the monthly stories that I tell. Right now, it feels very freeing to let someone else take the lead. The first kit that I’ll be working with is focused on Hope...so I’m starting to play with what stories I’ll tell related to that theme.

50@50

Those of you have been around for awhile will remember my 40@40 Project. For my 50th year, I’m embarking on a list + selfie project. I’ve long been a fan of Morea Seal’s lists, so I purchased both 52 Lists and 52 Lists for Happiness. With a built-in “pass” for 2 weeks, I’m committing to 50 lists (chosen by whatever inspires me) + 50 selfies to commemorate my 50th year. I am sooo happy that my bestie, Miss Barb, is joining me for this project.

I’ll be using Shannan’s 52 Weeks template, and plan to print a 5×8 photo book via Blurb when I’ve completed this project.

I completed my first two spreads today…

Note: for anyone that cringes at the thought of doing an entire photo book with 50 photos of yourself…I’m challenging you to be seen. I can tell you that I often email my Mom with requests for photos of a particular year/era/age…and she always delivers. Your story is important.

One Little Word®

This year, I decided to sign up for Ali Edward’s One Little Word® class. I started my album this weekend…and I’m pretty excited about my progress so far. I’m using a Simple Stories 6×8 album, Ali’s templates, and the Simple Stories Hello Today collection.

Chatbooks

I am a huge fan of this photo book service. I love that I can easily create albums, and that the cost is so freakin’ economical. I’ve created Chatbooks for travel, yearly reviews, and special occasions. For 2021, I plan to create photo books for our parenting time with Mackie & Wilder, our travel (oh please 2021, let us travel again!), and for my backlog of adventures. If you’re interested in trying out Chatbooks, here’s an affilitate link…Chatbooks .

I’m really focused on going into 2021 with eyes & heart wide open…and I’m looking forward to documenting whatever the year brings.
