a (rainy) photo walk.
Thanks to Lee's inspiration, I hosted a Scott Kelby Photo Walk on Saturday. The weather did not cooperate, but it was still great to have a group of strangers come together with cameras. Events such as these are challenging for an introvert like me – hosting really adds to that challenge!
We gathered at 830am, under dark clouds. I thought I was being really prepared – I had printed out nametags for everyone in advance. I knew that some people wouldn't show up due to weather, but wanted make it easier to learn names just the same. Turns out, a local 'meet up group" had also posted about the walk – so there were people there that I didn't expect! The more the merrier! I spent a bit too much time in the beginning asking everyone to introduce themselves (really to put ME at ease) – one of the photogs nervously eyed the clouds & suggested that we just get on with things. Probably a good idea! We wandered along the waterfront a bit, then meandered up to the farmer's market. When we couldn't dodge the rain any longer, we headed to Maglianero's.
A few faves (not surprising that they're all food!)…
I highly recommend the honey latte at Maglianero's…sooo good.

Very cool to see you are a Maglianero fan too! That latte looks like the work of the first Latte Throwdown competition winner, Stanzi! I’m there at least a few times a week, hope to cross paths sometime soon!

Wish I could have come on your walk Katrina. I was scheduled to go on one here, but had to cancel due to more important family issues. Good for you for hosting! Maybe we can meet up for next year’s 🙂

How fun! I wish there was a photo walk while we were in Chicago. Maybe we should host one?
And, you already know how I feel about the wonder that is the honey latte. The secret is being sure the honey is stirred into the coffee. It needs to get melty.

I looove Maglianero! We should definitely plan to meet up – I’ll likely be there on Sunday.

For sure! I’m a sunday regular there as well. When would be a good time to meet up? I think this sunday is pretty flexible on my end.
