friday reflections

(9.27) friday reflections

Taking a cue from my dear friend Gabby today, who was inspired by Rosie Molinary

Rosie explains that Friday Reflections is "all about reflecting on the week by observing our senses.  My hope is that this will be a gentle, easy way to tune into how we are doing and what we are experiencing weekly when journaling in general can feel so daunting." this week's reflections (brought to you from Baltimore)…

tasting :: homemade espresso pudding. black coffee. Heady Topper. salted butter. lots of cheese. it's funny that I used to think that eating out was the thing to do with company. i've come to treasure eating in, with company. especially when company helps with the dishes.

hearing :: the sound of traffic outside my hotel room – I'm on the 14th floor, but the sound of honking & braking is bold. austin saying "what did you do today?"…as if he's read the same articles that suggest asking open-ended questions to encourage conversation.

smelling :: candles. mint from the laundry. coffee beans being ground (we're taking a break from our keurig).

seeing :: leaves starting to change. the sky from 30,000 feet. the bustling trade show floor. text messages that make me giggle, and that remind me that I'm loved.

feeling :: unsure and unsteady…but also hopeful and strong. feeling happy, which is something that I haven't felt regularly this year. the blisters on my feet from my decision to wear heels to a trade show (but they looked so cute!!)

wishing/hoping :: for a little more support in my job. for more regular time with friends. for understanding when friends get crazy text messages from me, fueled by exhaustion & overwhelm. to get my way. just a little bit….or y'know, a lot.
