Tuesday stuff

Herniated disc, bird flu (or a nasty cold per Renee), codeine reaction – three is enough. I’m done with this medical stuff. This blog was starting to sound like a daily rerun of ER. Without Noah Wiley. So ENOUGH of that. Moving on…

We had a brief break from the rain yesterday – just enough for me to run outside & take a picture of a neighbor’s tree. We have 3 trees in our yard, and none of them have gotten to brilliant color yet. So I have to look across the street to get some real color. Still hoping to get out & about to take some real "fall" pictures. We’ll have Bri & Olivia with us on Saturday, so we may venture to the pumpkin patch (note to Karen – leave Liv’s carseat, okay?).

The teacher’s strike marches on. Word on the street is that tonight’s negotiations might end this madness. The kids are getting up this morning, and we’re headed to Bayside for…well, I’m not really sure…a get-the-kids-back- into-school demonstration? Anyway, cross your fingers that today is the last day of the strike.

Watched The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants last night. Cute movie. We’d read the book, of course, so we knew what was going to happen…so we spent most of the movie saying "hey, what about _____?" and "that’s not how I pictured ______". Still, it’s a good chick flick. And apparently not toooooo chick-ish, b/c Rob & Austin both watched it. I’ve also decided from the previews that I need to rent the first few seasons of The Gilmore Girls. I’ve never gotten into watching this show, but I think this might need to go on the "in case we have a snow day & need to watch a marathon of TV" list. What? You don’t have one of those lists?

My daughter got me into Gilmore girls, and it’s just a fantastic show! Something you and Hope could watch together (yet it will still be cool, lol). Love the photo! I want some prety colors! Our leaves are just now beginning to change 🙁 Haven’t seen the sisterhood movie…not sure if i will. I’m sure I will end up disappointed. hope your back feels better soon ((((kat’s back)))

Snow day??? What’s a snow day? I wish we had fog days, but no such luck. I know the kids have to make up the days later, but it would be so nice to stay home when the weather’s bad and just curl up under a blanket and watch tv…darn. Now I’ve got myself all depressed about having to be at work. Loved the picture of the tree. I wish the trees out here would do that.

No snow days here!!! No fog days, either!!! And, I WOULDN’T want to make those days up at the end of the year, so I don’t want them!!! How long has this strike been going on??? Parents must be so sick of their kids!!! LOL What are you kids doing during the day??? Nice tree…very pretty.

I’m slowly falling in love with The Gilmore Girls, thanks to my 15 year old daughter. She is dying to get the Traveling Pants. We’ve both read the books and are anxious to see how they translate into the movie, so thanks for the thumbs up review. Yay on the neighbor’s tree. One of my neighbors has a tree that has sped to color and it stands out beautifully against everything else that is still green and lush. I thought about asking them if I could take a picture of it, but wouldn’t you know… it is the crabby lady from bookclub whose yard that tree is in. I am NOT asking “her” if I can take a photo of her tree!
