fab finds : citrus clear face wash.

Sensitive-washY'all know that there's a lot of product in my life. Working in the beauty biz means that I see/hear about brands & buzz on a daily basis. This post is one of the "work meets real life" things. When I had the opportunity to try out Citrus Clear, I immeadiately said "yes!".

A bit about Citrus Clear (from their website) -

We have a unique holistic approach using citrus ingredients to provide premium, concentrated skin care. We are an evolving company that will continue to focus on ensuring our products are naturally based, eco-friendly, and, sustainable. All packaging is made from recyclable material. This is our way of life. We believe in awareness of others, our environment, and, the collective nature of human beings.

I tried out the Gentle Cleanser. My thoughts -

the good – Nice lather (especially for a natural product), great rinse off, and pleasant aroma. It's not easy to formulate a natural cleanser that "acts" like a mainstream cleanser…and they've done a great job. After using, my skin feels clean but not stripped. The ingredient list aligns well with the company mission.

the not-so good – The dip tube for the pump is a few inches too long, so it folded at the bottom of the bottle. It took me a few days (what? I was tired!) to figure out why I couldn't get the pump to function well. I haven't poured the product out of the bottle, but it does seem that there are some "scrubby" granules that are settling a bit. As I mentioned before, the ingredient list is good…but I feel like it's too long. Many of the extracts are really in there at trace amounts, so why bother? (this is admittedly a pet peeve of mine) Oh, and one other packaging note – the wrap label on the bottle doesn't have a laminate layer, so it quickly gets wet/discolored in the shower. No harm done, it just bugs me.

Be sure to check out Citrus Clear on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
