true stories.

Another busy week of work, travel, and very little sleep…but also filled with friends and laughter. I've been pondering (kind of a lot) the stories that I tell on this little blog. I sometimes look back through archives and feel like I used to write more openly. Why did I start censoring? Hmmm. One wonders. I do know that offline, I've been sharing true stories – the good, the bad, and the challenging. I've been leaning on friends who can laugh with me, and who can say "yeah, that really sucks" w/o judging me. A few of my true story themes right now…

1. Raising teens is hard. No matter how spectacular they are.

2. Dating (in general) is ridiculous. Luckily, I have friends who can commiserate…and remind me to laugh.

3. Housework is never going to be my favorite thing to do.

4. Learning to manage money at 42 definitely feels like a day late and (lots) of dollars short. Still, it needs to be done.

5. Lists are my salvation. Write the list. Work the list.

If we sat down for coffee today, what true stories would you tell me?

Raising kids is hard. Fullstop! Parenting on your own is hard, parenting on your own with no real life support system is very hard. I struggle each day with the parent I have become vs the parent I wanted to be, I struggle each day with anger & frustration overwhelming me, I struggle each day with an empty love cup & 3 little vampires who syphon the love as soon as there is a drop in there.
I would love dearly to sit down with a friend & have coffee, but I am lucky to have virtual friends to chat with via email & instagram, which helps get me through the rough patches.
Off today with only one little to look at colour selections for the house we are building, maybe I shall go out to coffee with her.
