7. Dream. What crazy and wild dream would you like to become a reality (or at least begin to make a reality) in 2014?

Wanna know a secret? The idea of dreams makes me all twitchy. With all the intention setting, affirmation writing, mantra repeating…I am usually grounded in something really practical and pragmatic (and maybe even a little boring). If I'm being honest, I don't have memories of being told/taught to dream big. That's not meant as a criticism, and it may not even be an accurate memory. I learned to do the work. I'm not sure that I've done a great job of telling/teaching my kids to dream big. I've read Money, A Love Story over my holiday break, and through that learning & reflection, I've thought a lot about the habit that I have of attaching a price tag to everything. Dreams? Dreams are expensive. Dreams are something that I can't afford. Dreams are something that I don't deserve. 

One of my crazy & wild dreams is to ditch that limiting thinking. I want to add more spontaneity to my life. I want to go on adventures. "I want to go someplace where I can marvel at something, anything." (Eat, Pray, Love) I want to laugh louder. I want to live louder. Maybe that's a strange dream for someone who is drawn to stillness and silence. 

Today is the first day of the New Year, so I'm going to spend a bit of time writing a letter to 2014. I'm going to write out the crazy & wild dreams, the half-baked plans, the hopes, and yes, the intentions. Futureme.org allows you to write an email that will auto-send on any date that you choose. It will be amazing to read that letter on the last day of the year, right?
