project life : week nine
Got a little stressed about the delay in getting this week done – ran out of my favorite photo paper, ran out of light blue ink, ran out of hours in the day. I'm trying to stick to a schedule b/c I find that if I'm not "done" with the previous week, I'm less mindful about the current week. Here goes:
Full spread, sans inserts. While I envy some of the color-coordinated Project Life projects out there, I'm finding that mine is always a hodge-podge. Tis life.
Page 2. I realize that lots of people will consider last week to be Feb – I follow the fiscal calendar that we use at work b/c it's the only way to keep things straight in my head! A nod to the Oscars:
A photo of the settlement check for last year's accident (yay! finally!). A couple of shots of gorgeous kids. An image of that scary MRI warning. A nod to Dr. Seuss (lovely digi quote from CD):
It's a 3 insert week!
First one – a fabulous chocolate bar wrapper from Askinosie Chocolate.
A play-by-play of my back pain/dr's appts:
And my FAVORITE – a photo that Hope took of Austin on the mountain. His ski jacket is called "the storm trooper" – perfect title for this photo. Love, love, love this:
Which brings us to page 2:
Hope & homework for Reading Week. Another mountain photo (by Hope). Leap day! The mess that accompanies Hope everywhere. My 30 Days of Lists SMASH book. A shot of the scale at my Dr's office with a reminder of a goal of mine. And…the fabulous CHARLIE! My sweet friend Angie welcomed this little rockstar into the family last Friday, and I'm so happy for her!!
Thoughts:
*I didn't have much in the way of "stuff" this week – reminding myself to collect more.
*I'm always surprised when I sit down to work on this that I have more photos than I need, and plenty of stories to tell.
*I'm wondering how many albums PL veterans have used for a year? This one is getting pretty heavy already!

There is SO much I love here.
The Dr. Suess.
The Charlie Card.
The movies.
The Austin. 😉

your pages are great, I love the way the eye travels all over the page taking different things in, I find sometimes with the super colour coordinated that I see the page as a whole & not the individual elements.
I used the same album last year & it is packed, I had an insert most weeks & quite a few birthday cards in there too, I know I will need more than one album this year as the Becky Higgins albums aren’t as big.
I have been behind in getting everything in this week, very little sleep at night meant I was catching up when the littles were napping in the day, I too feel like I am not as focused on this week’s stories because last weeks are still in my head so I made myself a “smash” style project life planning book that I can keep all of my plans, stories & bits & pieces in one place until I can sit down & get them all in. Last year I found myself getting behind when I let the weeks & the stories build up & I blinked & was months behind & it is super hard to go back, much easier to quickly put things in & jot a few notes on cards & call it a week than back track.

It’s interesting that while you’re envying the color- coordinated look, I’m looking at pages like yours and wishing I had the freedom to just use whatever products I want. I’ll stick with the scheme for this year, but I suspect I’ll ditch it next time.
I totally agree about being mindful when I’m a week behind.
Regarding the albums – I asked this question on a couple different forums. The general consensus was 2 albums unless you use a lot of inserts. So I ended up buying three just in case.
