project life : week four.
A confession – I wanted a do-over this week. Not necessarily on the week itself (although there were some parts that I could have lived w/o), but on the actual pages. Or page 2, to be specific. I let myself get in a bit of a rush to get it finished, and felt the pressure of other projects looming. As a result, I wasn't thrilled with it. So, after letting it marinate for a couple of days, I decided that a do-over is perfectly okay. I moved things around a bit. Added more journaling. Changed up a paper here & there. I'm much happier…
A PSE compilation of page 1 & 2 – since I ended up photographing them at different times.
Page 1 – my new SBX gold card (yay!), a smoothie shot, a hello monday blog post, and some journaling (CZ Story Savers) about Austin's special delivery of strawberry jam. Also, a confession – I didn't actually watch the State of the Union address! I wanted to to include it as a current event, though – and just to be clever, I used OA Report Card paper as the background. Ha!
A menu insert from a restaurant that I went to this week. I've had that sticker for about 5 years (at least), and I just thought it fit this menu – so I added it on top of the page protector. Stapled some ribbon at the top (remember when ribbon was cool? before washi tape?). I had a ton of pics that I wanted to include from my NYC trip, so I added a baseball-card-sized page protector:
I went back & typed up the kraft flags when I realized that I wouldn't remember what was in the picture at some point. Oh, and an apology in advance to every hotel that I stay in this year – y'all aren't getting your room keys back.
The back of the insert. Here's a little tip – see the 2 restaurant logos? Google Images is your friend. I neglected to get a business card at either place, so I just printed the logo onto cardstock.
The re-done page 2.
I plugged in my Silhouette for the first time in a loooong time.
VERY happy that Kelly and I had a chance to have dinner & exchange Traveling SMASH journals.
This is one of those "happy accident" photos – I was shooting through the window of my hotel room & didn't notice that I got the reflection of the bed. Cool! I added the conserve linens card b/c I liked that they included a definition. Also added the alpha stickers and "travel" rubon.
This was an add during the do-over. It replaced a photo of food – mostly b/c I realized that I wanted to remember this simple everyday thing. (the graphic is from the Turquoise Digi elements kit)
I know that this sounds like "me too! me too!" to all of the other Project Lifer-s out there, but – I am still loving this project. My lessons this week? Sloooow down. It's not a race. And do-overs are okay.
PS. I'm digging deep for some of my supplies – if you want to know what something specific is, feel free to ask in the comments!

I love your week 4, I love how the stuff you put in tells the story as well as the photos… I had a child free day today (my first in 1.5 years!) & I planned on doing a little bit of housework & a whole lot of week 4, in the end I did a whole lot of housework & when I sat down to my album I was so not in the mood, I was just going to shove a few bits in & call it done when I said the same thing as you…it’s not a race, I don’t HAVE to finish it today, so I left it & tomorrow I will squeeze bits of creative time in & around my girls.
