let the rain.

RaindropsI want to darken in the skies / Open the floodgates up / I want to change my mind / I want to be enough / I want the water in my eyes / I want to cry until the end of time / I want to let the rain come down / Make a brand new ground. (sara bareilles: let the rain)

A song that I've played on repeat many a day lately. I've had a fascination with Seattle for a long time (even before McDreamy), and the question that people always ask me is "but how would you deal with all the rain?" Hmmm. Well, I don't really know. It's been raining a lot here lately, and I've monitored my reaction a bit…I guess to see how I'm dealing with it. (I still dream of moving to Seattle one day) It's an interesting reflective exercise.

So. Today I'm just going to let the rain come down.

    I lived in Seattle for a year & in my experience the sun managed to come out almost daily during the rainy season, so it wasn’t really that difficult to adjust. It’s an incredible place!

    we’re in the midst of a sunny moment after a very rainy morning. I think I’d need a hair cut and a cute rain coat/umbrella/boots ensemble, but other than that I’d adjust to the rain. Probably better than the snow.

    I’ve lived in the PNW my whole life (near Portland)and I have never minded the rain. UNTIL – I had a husband with a roofing job. It’s really hard to work on a roof when it’s raining. And until I had kids that needed to get outside and PLAY. Those two things make me wish for a little less rain… My hubby is looking for a new job and I can’t wait for the day when I can look outside and not feel anxiety when I see the rain, knowing he is going to have trouble getting work done. I do like to be indoors, so I love the rain when I can curl up with a book or work on a project inside. 🙂
