Hot, sticky Monday

I’m going to have to drink my coffee iced this am b/c it’s already sooo hot & sticky. The weather forecast is supposed to be cooler for the rest of the week. Did I seriously just start off my blog entry with a weather forecast? Next thing you know, I’ll start reporting on my arthritis or saying that my knees feel like it’s going to rain.

The weekend went far too fast. Blistering heat at Hope’s soccer game on Saturday – 3 of our girls (including Hope) had mild heatstroke by the end of the game. Sunday’s game was called a little after half time due to thunder. They had played most of the game through pouring rain, but thunder ends things in a hurry.

I’m struggling with fuzzy thoughts this am – visitors until 11pm last night – so i think i’ll just try this later.

Thank you for the birthday wishes!! Sorry I read it a week late. My life has been a disasterous nightmare for about three weeks. Let me list the bad stuff:
My neice and nephew got me sick (don’t even ask my opinion of traveling with sick kids – when the truck needs new tires, come down to visit!!).
The house I’m supposed to be moving into will NEVER close. First it was copies of W-2s now it’s the bug inspection. Why anyone ever buys a house is beyond me.
Patrick’s grandma (NOT my mom) took him to the OC (Orange County, for all those not from California) last weekend. She was supposed to leave on Thursday night and be back the following Wednesday. Well, due to car trouble and one crazy grandma, Patrick spent a lovely (insert sarcasm here), and scary evening in Van Nuys waiting for a ride and then didn’t come home until Thursday.
I’ve packed everything I possibly can for the move and now have resorted to doing laundry three times a week so I can have clean clothes b/c I REFUSE to unpack. Unpacking is a sign of surrender.
Oh, and I got laid off, effective July 15th. So I get to move and be on unemployment, because as you all from Fresno know, the job market SUCKS. No luck so far. I’m even considering lowering my standrds and going back to (yuck) retail.
So this venting on the internet thing is cool. It’s kind of working for me.
Katy, sorry for not seeking the birthday wishes sooner. Thanks for the happy birthday and Patrick did call me from the OC to say Happy Birthday. I find that after 21 and a kid, they’re pretty much just a reminder that I’m a year older and no closer to passing the bar exam.
    Talk to you soon.

Jeesh! 11:00 pm… I am just getting something accomplished! In fact its 11:26 and I’m in the girls playroom trying to reorganize it for the umpteenth (sp?) time. I still haven’t figured out how they are tucked away in their beds blissfully sleeping and I am up cleaning up!?
