completing 2018

I’ve been feeling the pull to get back to blogging for the last several weeks. That’s the awesome thing about taking a break….it allows for the space of choose to return (or not).

I’ve written before about how much I enjoy that new beginning of January. The combo of the New Year and my birthday sets the stage for a lot of reflection and planning.

A few things that I’m declaring complete with the end of 2018…

  1. the blog break – I left this space for several months. At first, I didn’t miss it…and then I did.
  2. our first full year as away parents man, that was hard.
  3. a season when self-care really slipped for me – not enough movement, too much gluten, and probably just a tad too much poutine.
  4. 21 books (according to #katrinareads2018) – including several that I never would have chosen for myself (thanks, book club).
  5. my 2018 OLW, Practice – this was a quiet word for me, but an important one nonetheless.

Last night, as the Littles had their final muffin tin meal of the year (their request), we wrote post-its for all the things we chose to leave in 2018. We then burned them (well, attempted to before simply crumpling them up). I love teaching them that they can release what no longer serves them.

Wishing you all a Happy New Year. May you be happy. May you be healthy. May you be safe. May you live with ease.

Namaste.
