Tequila Tuesdays

How sad is it that we can’t even commit to a drink night? Back in May, we had this idea that we would make Mondays be "Margarita Mondays." Then we missed one, so we deemed the next day to be "Tequila Tuesday"…clever, aren’t we? Anyway, we sat down to dinner too late & too tired tonight to bother with making a margarita, so tonight was "Twisted Tuesday." As in, Smirnoff Twisted Black Cherry. Yum.

No, we’re not heavy drinkers. My parents weren’t drinkers. I don’t remember them EVER drinking. Rob’s parents are DEFINITELY drinkers. We’re trying to find our own style. Plus, I still get carded sometimes, so that’s fun.

I have a long drive to work. Give or take an hour, depending on traffic. Keep in mind that traffic can be described as tourists crossing the road in the bay, cows crossing the road in the country, and the occassional stuck-behind-a-tractor moment. Anyway, I think of all sorts of great things to write about while I’m driving. No, I don’t jot them down. Just trust me – some of those ideas are brilliant. BRILLIANT, I tell you!

We got into a discussion at work today about…well…NOT working. There are a few of us who used to think that we could never NOT work. Guess what? We were wrong. We could SO not work. After discussing the possibility of winning Powerball, we went back to work. Sigh.

Rob just came in to bring a cup of coffee to me & speculated that I was writing about the fact that my sister in law is coming for a visit this weekend. He assumes that I’m venting about that. Really, WHO waits until Tuesday to call and say that they are driving 8 hours to visit on the following Sunday. Nope, not venting. Moving right along…

Okay, back to the car & those brilliant thoughts. A train of thought that I follow fairly often sounds like this: "I wonder what _____ is doing now." Insert any name that you wish…old friends, old enemies, old girlfriends/boyfriends, etc. So, guess who popped into my head today? Darik Volpa. No idea why. When I got to work, I did what any curious person would do – I Googled him. Yes, I know that’s about as lame as that old 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon game. Let me have my fun. Anyone want to know what Darik’s doing? Anyone? Raise your hand if you’ve driven around & around Darik’s block on a Friday night. Okay, Stacy, put your hand down. Oh, and by the way – Roman, if you tell Darik about this, I’ll have to hurt you! 🙂 Drumroll folks……Darik. Apparently, he founded this website. Aren’t you impressed with my detective skills?

Well, that’s all the brilliant thoughts that I have on this fine Twisted Tuesday….good night.

I can’t believe how many people from high school you are still in contact with . . . amazing! Me? Hmm, high school, still in contact, let me count, maybe need the fingers of my 2nd hand, maybe? Anyway, to those I do still stay in contact with, many thanks to Katrina for keeping us even closer!

If only I had a cool picture and web site when people googled me. I probably wouldn’t tell Darik because he would so enjoy hearing about somebody looking him up on the internet. Oh I tried googling everyone I know. It is fun.
