weekend re-entry.

I've learned that I need at least a day or two of cushion between returning from vacation, and returning to work. It helps me to get settled again, and allows me to mentally & physically unpack. This weekend proved to be very busy, so the extra time was much appreciated….

Trader joes

Trader Joe's opened in South Burlington on Friday, so I wandered over just after lunch. The store was packed (of course), but everyone was in good spirits, and the lines moved along nicely. I picked up a random assortment of things…bascially just going with "oh, that looks good!"…

Burrata

Fast forward to Friday night's dinner, when I decided that burrata is pretty much the most amazing thing EVER.

Prom 2014

Friday also involved two trips to the tux shop, several phone calls to the florist, and reminding Austin that everything would be fine. The dress that his girlfriend ordered for prom didn't fit, hence the flurry of last minute changes to color scheme (fortunately, her sister happens to be Miss Vermont, so that opens up a lot of last minute formal dress options). Saturday's weather ended up to be stunning…making for lots of happy prom goers.

Frog

Part of Saturday, and most of Sunday, centered around trying to clean up the yard. We didn't do a very good job of leaf removal in the fall, and I'm regretting that. Sigh. Anyway, the SERIOUSLY GIANT FROG that you see above reignited my desire to sell this house. Yard work and I are simply incompatible.

How was your weekend?
