Laundry

I intended to write on the plane & post yesterday – a really deep & thoughtful post….but slept & read instead. Yay me!

I tackled a lot of house cleaning this weekend. I don't have littles underfoot, but I still feel overwhelmed when it comes to domestic duties. There are about a million other things that I'd rather do. I thought about Karen Maezen Miller's teachings in Hand Wash Cold while I was going about my weekend. Trying to be mindful about the tasks helped me to stop resisting them so much. (good read – 4 Reasons Laundry Leads to Happiness)

I still find this shift in my life so interesting – the learning to view life as a practice, the mindfulness, the constant pull to be a little more open.

I'm in California for a few days, and my heart is happy. I feel lighter (CORE DESIRED FEELING ALERT!) already. Yesterday, I walked 2 miles in the cool SF air, and simply soaked in the city that I adore.

Plus, someone else will make my bed today, so……WIN!
