Surviving 13…or not

I’ll preface this whine by saying that Hope is a great kid. Really. Many parents of teenagers are dealing with big scary problems. We’re just dealing with ordinary, get under your skin stuff. That being said, does anyone want my child? Anyone? Anyone?

After the "I forgot what you said about the internet" episode last weekend, one would think that she’d be taking some pretty good notes when I tell her something. I called last night as I was leaving work and said, "Tell Robby that I’m leaving right now. Look at the time and tell him exactly when I left. You guys are meeting me at Kohl’s. My cell phone is dead, so be sure to tell him b/c I can’t call from the road." I waited at Kohl’s for more than 30 minutes….because Hope had "forgotten and lost track of time." I wanted to kill her. But I couldn’t, b/c they also showed up with an extra kid – one of Austin’s friends. So not only would he have been a witness, but he probably wouldn’t want to hang out with Austin anymore. Oh, and it’s important that you realize WHY we were going to Kohl’s – to buy shorts for Hope! She had personal motivation to get the message right. ARRGGGHH!

Well, I’ll completely change my tune in a couple of days b/c Hope is headed out to CA with her Dad for 2 weeks. i’ll miss her. They’re hanging out in Santa Cruz mostly, but will be in Fresno for a few days. Hopefully my sister will be able to drive down from Modesto and at least take the girls (my niece & Hope) to Coldstone Creamery or Jamba Juice. Those are the 2 places that Hope said she MUST go to while she’s in CA.

I have some new prints on the way from 2Ps Pictures that I’m anxious to play with. And I’m definitely going to try the taking-pictures-of-layouts-thing instead of scanning. So look for new stuff here soon.

Have a great day!

I shuddered when i read your post only to think that I will be there one day also( teenagers! eek! ). And mind you two at the same time….Geesh we’ll have so many hormones floating around we’ll be able to sell them ( the hormones, not the kids…lol) All I can say is I’ll pray for you and figure it all out so you’ll be the expert when I get there!
