summer weekends.

Vermont summers exist to make us forget about Vermont winters. It doesn't really work – in the same way that you never really forget the pain of childbirth. But. This weekend came very close. I would love to say that I spent all weekend outside – picnicking in the glorious sunshine & frolicking on the waterfront. Nope. No picnicking. No frolicking. Our weekend was filled to the point that I basically collapsed into bed last night. That's what summer weekends are all about, right?

Friday night – I played taxi driver to two girls who had plans but no car. While Hope & Sarah wandered through the Arts Riot Truck Stop, I went to Wal*Mart and Home Depot. Who got the better end of that deal??

Saturday – acupuncture, errands, & home improvements. Why is it that every "little" project turns into something 5x harder?? The very small landing in my entry way needed to be re-grouted – I thought it would take a few hours. It ended up taking a couple of days. After spending the afternoon working on it, we headed to the waterfront for a creemee & a spectacular sunset (see above).

Sunday – I had the very cool experience of doing yoga with 400 people, outside, in a very public venue. It was awesome. I was also reminded (and am still being reminded) that it has been far too long since I've been on my mat. I'm grateful that yoga welcomes you back with no judgement for how long you've been gone. After yoga – more tile work. Then yard work. Then a movie (the Hundred Foot Journey – soooo good!) with Lori.

Summer weekends in VT are pretty fabulous.
