Home Improvement – chapter 1

So, we had this idea that we’d turn our monthly dinners into Home Improvement project days for the spring/summer. Along the lines of many hands make light work…y’know? Today was our day. The projects: rebuild the deck, paint the kitchen.

The kitchen is done. I’m really pleased with how the chalkboard paint section turned out. I was a little worried about the wall color (almond toast) until we got the second coat put on. Karen said that the room has a "coffee house feel" to it now. I like that!

The deck is almost done – if the guys hadn’t been interrupted by rain, they would have finished. It looks better already…bye bye ugly white lattice.

So, the to do list for my parent’s visit is being checked off. Paint scraproom- check. Paint kitchen- check. Rebuild deck- almost check. Still need to buy new curtains, and order WiseDecor for the entryway.

Unrelated to home improvement – I need to finish the circle journal that I have right now. Simple Pleasures. For some reason, this one has me stumped.
