commitments : august 2017

We’ve had a slew of family & friends-who-are-family visiting over the past week, so as usual, my plan to actually blog has fallen by the wayside. Sigh. It’s August already!

Completing

*(virtual) piles of paperwork – name changes (still), university financial aid, student loan refinancing…not my favorite things, but they had to be done

*a month of BUSY- mostly good stuff, but July felt like a sprint with little rest

*the first season of Stranger Things…I think that I liked it, and it was also really weird

Creating

*more green things! Barb & I made a trip to a local greenhouse during her visit, and I brought home 3 new plants…Dan just sighed & reminded me that he is not in charge of watering

*photo books! I’ve said this before…I have so much catch-up to do. Trips, events, and just everyday life (planning to use Chatbooks. I had our wedding album printed at MPIX, and it is divine – but I prefer Chatbooks for quick & easy mini-books)

*routines – craving some consistency & practices 

*new living room space – scoping out new furniture, with a focus on fun color

Celebrating

*Austin comes home on Sunday! He completed 2 summer blocks, and now he’ll take a quick break before heading back to BC for the start of his Junior year (what??)

*the love & support of our kick-ass community of family & friends. We had such an awesome time celebrating our wedding with an after-party at our house last weekend. It was not only a ton of fun, but it was a perfectly timed remind that we have a strong community that has our back

*date nights, love notes, and unexpected gifts…and getting to create this life with my fabulous husband (love you babe!)
